About Us

Valdefernando represents a family ownership platform with a long-standing connection to rural land management, farming and livestock operations.

Our goal is to identify projects that combine long-term returns, operational viability and responsible land management. We contribute direct knowledge of the properties and are open to considering acquisition proposals, investment, strategic partnerships or productive transformation.

Valdefernando at a Glance

A portfolio of rural assets in Extremadura, Spain, combining established land uses, natural resources and the flexibility to assess new investment and development strategies.

≈ 600 ha

Rural portfolio

Several rural properties in the province of Cáceres, allowing assessment on an asset-by-asset basis or as part of a broader portfolio strategy.

Livestock

Established use

Family experience in cattle and sheep farming, supported by direct knowledge of the land and its day-to-day operation.

Water

Water resources

Boreholes are available on selected properties, together with access to water resources associated with the Alcántara reservoir area, one of Spain's largest reservoirs.

Energy

Sector interest

The portfolio has previously attracted interest from energy-sector intermediaries and operators, supporting further assessment of renewable opportunities subject to technical feasibility, grid access and permitting.

Hunting

Complementary use

Selected properties include hunting use and the potential to retain this activity as a complementary source of value and income.

Multi-use

Productive transformation

Potential to assess higher-value agriculture, regenerative land management, forestry, natural capital and combinations of complementary land uses.

Flexible

Investment structures

Open to asset sales, co-investment, joint development, long-term leases and other structures suited to the underlying project.

Long term

Ownership perspective

Family ownership seeking robust, scalable projects capable of generating long-term economic and territorial value.

Relevant water infrastructure: the José María de Oriol–Alcántara II reservoir has approximately 10,400 ha of surface area and 3,162 hm³ of storage capacity. Water availability for any specific project remains subject to the relevant property, permits, regulation and technical feasibility.

Our Assets

Rural properties with existing uses and the potential to support new investment strategies.

Rural Land

Land that may be assessed for agricultural, livestock, energy, forestry or mixed-use projects.

Operating Experience

Practical land knowledge built through traditional cattle and sheep farming and direct management of the properties.

Value-Creation Potential

Opportunity to assess alternatives that may increase productivity, diversify income or introduce new land-use models.

Development Opportunities

We assess projects where rural land can evolve towards more profitable, diversified and sustainable operating models.

Solar and agrivoltaic development

Solar & Agrivoltaics

We are open to assessing solar and agrivoltaic projects that can combine energy generation with livestock, agricultural activity or regenerative land management. Initial work has already been undertaken on this type of solution across our properties.

Wind energy integrated with rural land uses

Wind Energy

Availability to consider wind-energy developments led by specialised operators, provided that they fit the characteristics of each property and support a long-term relationship between the landowner and investor.

Regenerative agriculture and carbon projects

Regenerative Agriculture & Carbon

Interest in initiatives focused on soil improvement, vegetation cover, biodiversity and productive resilience, as well as carbon or natural-capital projects where there is a technically and economically viable methodology.

Complementary rural land uses

Complementary Land Uses

Potential to assess hunting, forestry, extractive or other uses, subject to applicable regulation and the specific characteristics of each asset.

Agricultural and fruit-growing development

Agriculture & Higher-Value Crops

Assessment of fruit plantations or other crops adapted to the agronomic conditions, water availability, mechanisation requirements and economic viability of each property.

New Proposals

We are not limited to current land uses. We welcome proposals from operators, investment funds, family offices, developers and industrial partners that identify additional value-creation opportunities in rural assets.

Present a proposal

Partnership Models

We consider different structures depending on the project, investor profile and underlying asset.

Asset Acquisition

Sale of properties or assets where there is a strong strategic fit and an appropriate proposal.

Investment & Joint Development

Partnerships with investors able to contribute capital, technology, operating capabilities or sector expertise.

Long-Term Use or Operation

Assessment of leases, land-use rights or other contractual structures tailored to the needs of the project.
